In India the founder of yoga, Shiva was a warrior, and his son Kartikeya the lord of war. In fact, every central character in India’s epics are warriors including Rama, Krishna, Arjuna, Bhishma, and Drona. Throughout history these enlightened warriors had massive impacts on schools of philosophy, theory of atoms (paramanu), cosmology, combative arts, strategy, innovation, military hierarchy, intelligence gathering, and study of leadership. Furthermore, the practice of meditation, yoga, and the most profound study of consciousness (chit) was the gift of enlightened warrior tradition to society. Even the impact of psychedelics (soma) on perception began with the warrior tradition in India, including bizarre concepts such as parallel universes (lokas).
