Kamran Loghman (pronounced Cameron Logman) is the founder of Rise of Giants and for more than three decades, he has transformed people and businesses across industries and cultures. Kamran is the inventor of pepper spray for law enforcement applications. He is a Professor of Business and Eastern Philosophy and has served as chief advisor to major global brands, including Apple®. Additionally, Kamran is an expert in meditation and yogic discipline.

Kamran is the inventor of pepper spray technology for law enforcement and holds multiple patents in chemistry and fluid dynamics. He is recognized as a leading expert in federal court cases involving pepper spray, having testified in numerous high-profile legal proceedings. Kamran also developed training standards and guidelines for law enforcement applications and has trained and certified over 4,000 officers in defensive tactics and the safe application of pepper spray.

Kamran is an accomplished CEO with significant leadership experience. He founded and led Zarc International, Inc. (Maryland) from 1988 to 2005, a manufacturer of law-enforcement devices with worldwide distribution. Under his leadership, the company served an elite roster of clients, including the U.S. Air Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Professor Loghman has served as an MBA Business professor in leadership, strategy, and innovation at the Kogod School of Business, American University in Washington, D.C., where he also oversaw Executive Education. Additionally, he has lectured on warrior traditions at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and taught Indian philosophy at The Catholic University of America.

For the past 50 years, Kamran has been deeply immersed in the study and practice of classical Japanese and Indian warrior traditions. As an acknowledged expert and a martial arts historian, he has conducted extensive research into the origins of warrior disciplines. For over four decades, Kamran collaborated closely with the late Dr. Gayatri Nath Pant, curator of the National Museum of India and widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on Asian arms and armor.

MARTIAL ARTS’ EXPERT & HISTORIAN

Kamran is a highly skilled practitioner of meditation and yogic discipline. From an early age, he trained directly under world-renowned meditation masters, first with the late Swami Muktananda Paramahansa and later with Swami Chidvilasananda. To further deepen his understanding, Kamran also studied with Lakshman Joo, a distinguished scholar and mystic of Kashmir Shaivism, whose teachings trace an unbroken lineage back to 850 CE.

ADEPT IN YOGA & MEDITATION

Kamran moved to Switzerland at a young age and later relocated to the United States in the early 1970s. On his paternal side, his family has a long medical tradition, with four generations of doctors who studied in Paris, France. They worked closely with eminent physicians, including Professor Louis Pasteur Vallery-Radot, the grandson of the legendary Louis Pasteur. Even further back, his ancestors were keepers of ancient books dating back over a thousand years, many of which are now preserved in museums. Kamran is also a direct descendant of Ibrahim Adham (c. 718), one of the most celebrated early Sufi saints, whose story was famously chronicled by the poet Rumi in the Masnavi. On his maternal side, Kamran comes from Georgian nobility in Tbilisi, with roots tracing back to the year 1200. He is closely related to Joseph Jandieri, the mystic and wonderworker canonized as a saint by the Georgian Orthodox Church.
